This is the most frequent question we get asked by our clients. Put simply, There is no catch. The reason we are able to serve you at no cost to you is because of how the Medicare health insurance enrollment commission system works.
Whether you enroll yourself directly through a health insurance company or you use brokers like us, your enrollment includes a commission that is paid to whomever enrolled you. If you enroll directly through the health plan’s website then the health plan gets paid your enrollment commission; if you enroll through a broker, then the broker receives the commission. This commission is not an extra fee you pay. It is already included in your plan premium and has NO effect on your benefits or your premium, meaning it is something you’ll never see, pay for or worry about.
Furthermore, the commission that gets paid for your enrollment is standardized based on the product type. This means that if you want a Medicare Advantage plan, the commission is the same amount for all Medicare Advantage plans regardless of which company you enroll with. The same goes for Medicare supplements as well!
No matter how you enroll, you should never be paying a broker or agent for assistance with your Medicare health insurance. Brokers are paid based on you enrolling in the health plan through them instead of directly through the health plan itself, so you should always go with someone who is knowledgeable and offers a wide range of companies and options rather than just one or two that are better for their own bottom line.
